Will You Love Teaching? Here’s what Teachers Say

Image
We asked a number of new teachers what they love about their work. Here’s what they had to say. The Students Teachers cite working with students as the number one reason why they love teaching. Many teachers get a rush as they watch a student master a new concept or come up with an innovative idea. In addition, teachers who are happy in their jobs do not get disappointed or take it personally when students experience setbacks; instead, they view these situations as challenges. Teachers love knowing that they can make a difference in a student’s life–both in and out of the classroom. Responsibility Teachers enjoy leading their own classes and love the autonomy and freedom they have on the job. One of the nice aspects about this industry is that you don’t have to wait for challenge and responsibility; unlike many other professions, teaching allows recent graduates to jump right in and do what they love–teach–rather than sit through a tiresome training period or climb slowly...

Technology is Changing Studies in 3 ways

Mobile devices and other digital tools reshape how school and college students get classwork done. When it comes to studying, today’s students aren’t hunkering down in libraries all night to prepare for big exams. Instead, they’re tucked safely in their dorms with a laptop or mobile device. A recent survey by Ziyyara found that  80 percent of students prefer to study at home , while only 10 percent indicate they prefer the library, probably because of the technology available to them at their homes. The survey found that a whopping  85 percent of students say digital tools have helped improve their grades , and 88 percent say laptops, tablets and apps have helped them spend even more time studying. We’ve explored how technology has reshaped the studying experience for college students. 1. Libraries Become High-Tech Collaboration Centers With more students studying at home, colleges are open to creating libraries of the future.  Ziyyara...

Things to check before using educational technology

Image
If you have decided to use computers in your curriculum, then you should be prepared in advance. Even if you are well-aware of everything, if your students know what to do, you should consider all the details and situations as everything can happen. Check out the following list of things to do before using a computer room. Get to know whether the computer room is still available, there may be some changes in a timetable or some equipment may be on repair. If the room is free, then check whether there`s any help for pupils with software usage. You can ask the ICT coordinator to bring some guides or you may create posters with keys by yourself and use them during the lesson. Check the number of computers available, whether all of them work in an appropriate way, as this matters much to the way you organize your work during the lesson. Check whether printing is possible, and whether you need to bring your own printing paper. Check whether necessary software is installed and ...

MOTIVATION TIPS FOR STUDENTS

Image
Hi there, I hope you all are having a lovely day! 1. Ask your teachers or professors what your workload will look like after the break is over.   One of the most appealing things about time off from school is being able to get ahead on assignments for the following months. However, this can often be hindered by simply being unaware of the assignments to come in your courses. Before the break begins, have your teachers send you their plans for the upcoming units in their course. This will help you to get ahead on notes and readings that could be incredibly time consuming while class is in session. 2. Plan out a schedule for your work that lasts the whole break.  Procrastination is a beast to deal with during time off, mainly because it seems as though you still have so much time to complete something. Before the break starts, write down a full plan of when you want to complete your assignments and notes. This will lighten your workload by spreading the tasks out o...

The classroom is one of the most complex environments we all go through, during what is thought to be some of the most important stages of our life.. It contains all sorts of habitats which can shape/disfigure, develop/disintegrate, and define/leave out, who we are going to be. In fact, the diverse nature of the classroom teaches us the art of survival, even if it’s of the fittest. But is there any way to do this with efficiency, and a little grace?? We have seen a fair share of teachers complaining about the old teaching methods which has been there since like the beginning of time. But can we blame them for not producing results with those seriously outdated tools and methods used by our ancestors?? No. After we decided to spend some time thinking why the classrooms haven’t been changed much for past few centuries, the answer was right there!, smiling at us. Do you want to know what it was?? It has changed. And the changes were revolutionary. It was just that most o...

We’ll be exploring some questions surrounding 21st Century Skills and 21st Century Students in the near future, but we want to give a quick overview to think about which skills are most important. 21st Century Students need more than just academic skills There are multiple frameworks by a variety of organizations who are thinking about this. We’re not the experts here. But based on the work done by the experts, let’s just say we’re confident in this reality. Twenty-First Century students need more than just “reading, writing, and ‘arithmetic.” 21st Century Students will find that soft skills are more important than ever before You might argue that soft skills have always been incredib...
